Checking in...

Hi Friends!
First of all, I miss you!  It seems very strange to have to connect with you with technology and not face to face.

This is certainly not how I thought this month would look!  I know that this is an uncertain time. Schools are closed. Families are staying home and away from others as we try to keep everyone safe and healthy.

I am home with Tim and Caroline, and Mr. Watson is continuing to go to work every day. We are all doing our best to stay busy and productive. I hope you are too!

Finnegan is loving that everyone is home right now! He was groomed over the weekend and looks so handsome with his new bandana! I walked with him this morning up to the center of town and back. It is great exercise and a chance to enjoy some fresh air!

Here are some other things I am doing. I started a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle. I set up a card table in my family room and got that started. I also took out my coloring book, my sudoku puzzle, and a stack of children's books. I am trying to stay away from the TV. But my family is watching a family movie each night!  That is fun... but choosing one we all want to watch isn't always easy!  Caroline and I convinced Mr. Watson and Tim to watch Frozen 2. HAHA!

Finnegan is looking very Irish with his
St. Patrick's Day neckerchief.
We are walking A LOT!

Caroline is helping with my puzzle!

I read these 2 kids books so far.

I am trying to write in my
journal once a day.

Coloring is a great way to relax!

Love my colorful fish!

I love these puzzles! So fun!

These are some of the books I have stockpiled and my kindle is on top. Reading is a great way to stay busy and continue learning!

Tomorrow I will be sending you an email with lots of work ideas so you can keep your BRAIN active!  The third grade teachers met last week to put materials together and we have been "talking" in a google hangout to keep our planning going.

I have been back in to school to grab more materials and books so we can try to stay on top of school and learning!

I will be in touch and you can email me if you want to be in touch with me.

FABLE FUN!

Students are reading many different fables and discussing character traits, settings, and morals.

Our essential questions are:
1. What are fables?
2. Why have some fables lasted for over 1,000 years?
3. What do the characters in fables help us learn about ourselves?

Students performed READERS' THEATER based on the fables they read!
