Social Studies

We made Wampanoag homesites... including wetus and mishoons.

Check out our classmates in action.

Parents, if you are planning to participate in any student activities in the near future, Plimoth Plantation or Rocky Woods, you must have a current CORI in effect.  If you completed a CORI for the school system anytime in the past three years you are good to go!

If not, please stop in to the office with 2 forms of picture ID to complete a CORI.

Read Alouds in Room 102

We finished reading Muggie Maggie by Beverly Cleary.  Maggie Schultz is a third grader who doesn't want to learn cursive writing.  It was a battle of wills and she finally realizes that if she can't write in cursive, she can't read in cursive.  Our class is really looking forward to learning cursive!

We just started Attaboy Sam by Lois Lowry.  Sam is a young boy in kindergarten.  His mom's birthday is coming up and he needs an idea about what he can make her for her birthday.

The class is enjoying our daily read alouds.  We have been talking about strategies good readers use to monitor for meaning.  We are adding new strategies to our CAFE...  Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanded Vocabulary.
