New School Year 2020 - 2021

Welcome back to Wheelock!

It was so nice to get our year started on Wednesday, 9/16. We began with a WHOLE CLASS ZOOM call and then Cohort B came to school for in person learning on Thursday and Friday. Cohort A worked at home and zoomed with me in the morning.

Super, sunny day for an outdoor snack!

We read a poem about FIRST DAY feelings!

Teagan is hard at work!

S.J. was determined!

Sarah was a STEM SUPER STAR!

We started off with a back to school word search to learn the names of ALL the third grade teachers and some of the topics we will learn about this year. Mrs. Caulfield had a ZOOM will all students to welcome everyone to Wheelock School! We talked about coming back to school, read a book about summer vacation. Then we wrote a little bit our own summer vacation.

We organized our supplies, learned some new classroom procedures and protocols, and had a snack & mask break.

We also ate lunch in our classroom, browsed the bookshelves, and played a game of KNOCK OUT against Mrs. Watson. They beat me!

We also wrote in our Response Journals, learned how to log on to the Chromebooks, and access Google Classroom.

We wrote 2 Truths and a FIB about ourselves to see who can guess which one is not TRUE!

We played KNOCKOUT with a partner in class and worked on reviewing GREATER THAN and LESS THAN with place value.

We did a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activity to see which student could build the TALLEST tower using marshmallows and toothpicks!
Will had a great strategy for building!
